I love this guy.
Kinky Friedman. What a name. This man is running for governor of Texas. A few days ago I saw a commercial of his on some political show and I was won over. I think it's the best political ad I've ever seen. The intersting things about the ad: he really did found that Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch 10 years ago. And he's Jewish.

Oh no, Caroline, this is too funny! Kinky is the founder of the c&w group called Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys. One of their hits is called Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in bed. I find it very refreshing that a committed feminist like you could see the good in Mr. Friedman. His animal rescue operation really is inspiring. This all just shows how hard it is to pigeonhole people, because they will always surprise you.
Yikes. Well, I knew he was a humorist and satirist, but I was not familiar with "Get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in bed." I'm hoping that song's part of his satire shtick.
What really sold me was his animal rescue ranch. Anyone that devotes money and time on rescuing animals has got a good heart, IMO. And I thought he was pretty on target on the issues (from what I read on the website).
